Maria + Bob’s Colorful Spring Wedding at Terrain at Styer’s in Glen Mills, PA

Maria + Bob’s wedding day began at the beautiful Fairville Inn in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania, and honestly, it could not have been a more perfect setting for their colorful spring wedding at Terrain at Styer’s. The soft natural light, peaceful atmosphere, and charming inn interiors made the entire morning feel calm, emotional, and incredibly beautiful to photograph.

One of my favorite parts of the morning was seeing how intentionally every detail tied into the two different worlds Maria envisioned for the wedding day. She actually designed two separate invitation styles, one for the ceremony and one for the reception, which was such a creative touch. The ceremony invitation suite reflected the bright whimsical spring feel of the day with shades of peach, pink, orange, soft blue, and hints of periwinkle and lavender woven throughout the floral artwork and paper details. Then for the reception, the design completely shifted into the enchanted forest atmosphere she dreamed up, incorporating moss, wood textures, deeper tones, and purple florals that hinted at what guests would later walk into that evening.

Her details were honestly a dream to photograph. Between the velvet ring boxes, colorful spring blooms, layered paper goods, and delicate styling pieces, everything felt artistic, romantic, and incredibly personal to them. Every little detail felt thoughtful without feeling overly formal, which fit Maria + Bob’s personalities so perfectly.

The morning was filled with excitement, sweet family moments, and anticipation leading into the first look with Bob. Between the colorful florals, emotional moments, and relaxed atmosphere at Fairville Inn, the beginning of the day already felt incredibly special before anyone even arrived at Terrain.

First Look + Portraits at Terrain at Styer’s in Glen Mills, Pennsylvania

Once we arrived at Terrain at Styer’s in Glen Mills, PA, a soft spring rain started falling, but honestly, it made the entire atmosphere feel even more romantic. The cloudy skies, glowing garden lights, wet stone paths, and colorful florals gave everything such a dreamy feeling throughout Maria + Bob’s first look and portraits.

The ceremony arbor was overflowing with peach, coral, pink, butter yellow, and soft blue blooms that perfectly reflected Maria’s whimsical spring vision for the day. Every corner of Terrain felt lush, colorful, and garden inspired in the best possible way.

Their first look outside Styer’s Garden Café was incredibly emotional and joyful. The second Bob turned around, both of them instantly lit up and started laughing together. It felt relaxed, genuine, and completely true to who they are as a couple.

As a Terrain at Styer’s wedding photographer, one of my favorite things about the venue is how beautiful it feels in every type of weather. The rain made the gardens feel extra alive, and the soft overcast light created the dreamiest atmosphere for portraits throughout the greenhouse spaces and nursery paths.

Wedding Party + Family Portraits Before the Ceremony

Right before the ceremony began, we spent time capturing wedding party and family portraits throughout Terrain’s gardens and greenhouse spaces. The rain had mostly cleared by this point, leaving behind soft romantic light that photographed beautifully.

The wedding party colors looked incredible against Terrain’s greenery and floral installations. The mix of peach, pink, sage, and soft blue paired perfectly with Bob’s light blue suit and peach bowtie, tying together the colorful spring palette throughout the day.

There were also so many sweet moments with family woven into this part of the day, especially with Maria’s mom and Bob’s grandmother. Everything felt joyful, relaxed, and full of genuine connection before everyone headed into the ceremony.

A Rainy Outdoor Ceremony

As guests began arriving, the rain slowly started coming down again, but somehow it made everything feel even more romantic. Terrain at Styer’s outdoor ceremony space looked unbelievably beautiful with the floral covered gazebo, glowing string lights, and colorful spring blooms tucked into every corner.

Maria + Bob also had the prettiest signature drink display waiting for cocktail hour featuring lavender lemonade cocktails topped with edible flowers, which fit the garden party atmosphere perfectly.

Even with the rain, nobody seemed stressed. If anything, it made the ceremony feel even more emotional and intimate. One of the sweetest moments was watching Bob get emotional during his vows while Maria smiled back at him through tears.

By the end of the ceremony, the rain was still falling lightly as the two of them walked back down the aisle officially married surrounded by cheers from all of their family and friends.

Enchanted Forest Reception Details at Terrain at Styer’s

Maria’s vision for the reception was inspired by an enchanted forest, and honestly, it could not have come together more beautifully. The reception space was filled with moss, wood textures, candlelight, hanging greenery, soft purple florals, and glowing twinkle lights woven throughout the barn.

One of the standout details was the cake, which looked like an actual woodland tree stump covered in moss, bark textures, vintage frames, and delicate flowers. It fit the reception design perfectly and honestly deserved its own moment.

Cocktail hour was also filled with thoughtful touches, from the whimsical displays to the beautifully presented appetizers and cozy atmosphere waiting for guests inside the greenhouse spaces.

Overcast Golden Hour Portraits After the Rain

Right after the rain cleared, we snuck out for portraits during the dreamiest little window of soft evening light. Even without direct sun, everything had that glowy romantic feeling that somehow only happens after a spring storm passes through.

Maria + Bob wandered through Terrain’s flower market and garden paths while the string lights slowly started glowing overhead. Her colorful bouquet completely popped against Bob’s blue suit, and the fresh greenery throughout the property made everything feel vibrant and alive.

One of my favorite things about Terrain at Styer’s is how even the quieter corners of the property photograph beautifully, especially after rain when the gardens feel extra lush and peaceful.

Cake Cutting, Dancing, + A Cozy Night at Terrain at Styer’s

The reception somehow became even more magical once the sun fully went down. Between the glowing lights overhead, the candlelit barn, and everyone packed onto the dance floor, the entire night felt incredibly warm and joyful.

And then there was the cake. Truly one of the coolest wedding cakes I’ve photographed. The entire design looked like a woodland tree stump covered in moss, tiny vintage frames, bark textures, and delicate purple flowers. It fit the enchanted forest theme perfectly and honestly deserved its own moment.

The dance floor stayed full all night, which is always the best energy. Guests were laughing, spinning around under the lights, and fully living in the moment. One of my favorite moments of the entire night was when Fleetwood Mac’s “Gypsy” came on and Maria’s maid of honor completely broke down crying while hugging her on the dance floor. It was one of those beautifully emotional moments where you could physically feel how much love was in the room.

To end the night, guests gathered around the fire pit making s’mores while the venue glowed in the background. It was the perfect cozy ending to such a heartfelt wedding day.
